Ive been busy

Santa Barbara has been treating me well. I have been doing some cool stuff in my video production class that I hope to post online sometime soon. Hopefully, I can put it all up by the end of next week, so that I may create a link to it from here. Meanwhile, this is a photo that I took while hiking in malibu a few weeks back. I meant to put it up a while ago, but it just never happened. Enjoy.

I went to see a Foo Fighters concert not too long ago, and I managed to get off a couple shots... with my cell phone. I took one into photoshop to see what I could do with it, and this is what I got:

Update

Well, its a new year, and I sadly dont have much I want to say. Alot has happened in my life recently, btu I dont feel that I want to discuss it here. Its not that I mind sharing, but Im just unmotivated. Here are some highlights:

- I now live in Santa Barbara
- I was accepted into the photo school I was applying to (Brooks Institute of Photography).
- Everyone I know that does photography has misgivings about my decision to study here.

To tell you the truth, the longer Im here, the more unsure I become in my decision. Dont get me wrong, I still love photography, but I dont know if this is the right school for me. I dont see myself learning as much as I had hoped, so in the end, Im paying for a piece of paper that says I endured (Bachelors). Is that piece of paper worth it? I could get it in a different field, and I would pay alot less... like English! Except Nick would see me dead before he acknowledged that I have a decent knowledge of a language. I want that piece of paper so I can teach. Thats it. I can work with the photo knowledge I have, but I cant teach without the paper. Dammit!

Here's the Deal

So Ive been really busy, except I havent. I dont really know what has been occupying so much of my time, and yet, where did my time go? There I things I should have done, which I havent. There are things that should be finished, but I just started. I know that playing games occupies alot of my time, and though I should be doing something to change it, I really dont want to. Sadly, it offers a bit of comfort, in that it changes the daily humdrum of life. Ive recently been through alot, though most dont know. Right now, the world seems a little desaturated. Maybe its the grey days we've been having. Maybe its the tone of life, and Im just begining to see it. I just remember tehre being alot more color to this canvas. On the bright side, I think that ph7 is possibly starting to record another EP, if not an album.
On a slightly off topic, Ill probably be transfering to Brooks Institute of Photography in January. I find I have mixed feelings about this. I was realy looking forward to transfering, but now I find that Im not as excited about it. I have a friend that is going there, and its not the cool photographic community I imagined. Instead it is just another school. The main reason Im applying, is because I dont know what else to do. I dont want to enter the real world yet. I want to continue in this palyful fantasy that Ive created, and school seems to help bring that about. But is paying 45k a year worth it? I dont know. Is the title "bachelor" worth me paying 70k? I just dont know. What I do know, is that right now, Im really tired. Most likely, because it is a longer post, nobody read this far. Regardless, it helps ot put words to it. *Sigh*

Today's Forecast

Today was wierd. It rained, and it was windy, and it was hot as hell, but you know what? It all paid off, because I saw one of the most beautiful sunsets ever. Here is a shot that I took. I am currently working on removing the wires from a similar shot. Ill probably do the same for thsi one. Stay tuned for the cleaned version. Enjoy todays.

Fiddlestick Forest

Ill tell you how. It is because everyone is so used to the idea that life sucks, that if it sucks just a little more, its okay. Well, its not. Life still sucks, and sometimes it sucks more. It a game where you get points and you lose alot more, and sometimes you gain em back, and sometimes you dont. So what is the point of playing this fucking game? Cause there is nothing better to do. So you play and play and play, and then in the end you tally your points, and if you still have some left, then life was worth living. The only catch is, you can never drop below one point. And that is what some people dont understand. That as long as you have life, there is always one point that you have left to invest and gamble away, and no matter how many times you lose it, it keeps coming back as long as you have life. Im putting this on my blog, but you can have it, too.

Tonight

I write this with tears in my eyes. Tonight, I died. This may be my last post in a while. I dont want to live. I dont feel the urge. I dont know how to live, but Im sure Ill find a way, eventually. Please dont call me right away, if you plan on it, unless you killed me.

Scouting

While looking for a decent campsite the first day, I came across this guy. He was'nt shy at all. He came right at me, as I was shooting him. I kinda thought that he'd turn around when he saw me move, but he didnt. He just kept coming. All the photos you see from this trip were shot without a major zoom lens. I ended up climbimg up a tree to get out of his way and make sure I didn't get skewed. He eventually wadered off, leaving me up a tree with pictures. I got down and continued looking for a site. Anyway, here's the pic. Enjoy.
